Citing data according to the latest Census population estimates, New York Upstate determined the 50 cities and villages that have seen the most growth between 2010 and 2018.
The report only includes restaurants from upstate - which is considered by the website to be areas north of Westchester and Rockland counties - in the rankings.
In the Hudson Valley, the following municipalities made the cut:
- Kiryas Joel (first overall):
Growth since 2010: 24.5 percent (+4982);
Change since 2017: 4.6 percent (+1111);
Population in 2018: 25,292.
- Maybrook (second):
Growth since 2010: 24.3 percent (+722);
Change since 2017: 4.0 percent (+142);
Population in 2018: 3,688.
- Montgomery (third):
Growth since 2010: 18.6 percent (+709);
Change since 2017: -0.2 percent (-10);
Population in 2018: 4,522.
- Chester (13th):
Growth since 2010: 4.0 percent (+158);
Change since 2017: -0.1 percent (-5);
Population in 2018: 4,099.
- Monroe (24th):
Growth since 2010: 2.2 percent (+184);
Change since 2017: -0.1 percent (-7);
Population in 2018: 8,570.
- Florida (27th):
Growth since 2010: 1.5 percent (+42);
Change since 2017: <1.0 percent (+1);
Population in 2018: 2,846.
